On Thursday the 14th of December the students of NG Central School officially finished the school year and, for a select few, this day marked their graduation.
The day was marked with celebration all round, from the students and teachers.
There were many smiling faces in the crowd coming from parents, carers, siblings and staff from YC Group.
There was a variety of achievements acknowledged at the ceremony. From students completing their HSC, to students graduating from years 9 through 12, Cert II courses completed and also acknowledgment of the hours of hard work of various volunteers.
Students in years 9 and 10 completed subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, PDHPE, Geography and History.
Students in year 11 and 12 completed subjects including English Studies, General Maths, Earth and Environmental Science, Sport, Lifestyle & Recreation Studies, Photography, Video and Digital Imaging, Industrial Technology (Timber or Automotive) and a Certificate II Vet Subject.
This year we had two students complete their HSC. The hard work and determination shown by these two students is incredible and they deserve every bit of praise.
After the graduation ceremony and pictures with families and friends, the celebrations moved into the Education Centre where Christmas had arrived at Green Central! The tables were laid decoratively, the tree’s lights were sparkling and the presents under the tree were wrapped to perfection. A Christmas lunch was the perfect way to end the school year.
The graduation ceremony is always an emotional day of the year, as we say goodbye to some faces knowing that they are leaving us but going off into the world to succeed.
To all the students and staff at NG Central School, 2017 was a fantastic year, but 2018 is going to be just as good.
School is a pathway to a purposeful future. Yet we know that mainstream education can’t always cater to the unique needs of every young person.
NG Central School is designed for young people who need a supported, innovative and personalised approach to learning. We offer a dynamic, enterprise learning environment that gives students a new perspective on what it means to have skills and knowledge.
Registered and accredited as a special assistance school with the NSW Education Standards Authority, we offer Years 9-12 along with a vocational qualification.
At NG Central, we make it our mission to think outside the box when it comes to teaching and learning so that students feel engaged, positive and like they belong.
