Ngaruga is a Darkinjung word meaning “rise” that resonates with how we will be supporting our youth. We will be there to help them rise and enrich their lives holistically with Indigenous culture.

Ngaruga will be opening a youth centre within YC Group’s grounds at Green Central, Kariong. It will be a hub for young people providing opportunities to not only focus on well-being, culture enrichment but will also be chance to improve education and employment accompanied by a meal and the use of our other facilities. Our site is nestled in tranquil bushland with an array of facilities for recreational activities and programs.

Some of these include:

– Coolamon cafe with an industrial kitchen and dining area

– Covered outdoor learning area and basketball court

– Cultural Indigenous gathering spaces and bush walk

– Media Centre

– Horticulture garden

– Showers and washing machine

To compliment the youth centre we have a bus that will collect the participants to bring them back to the Youth Centre. Our youth bus will also be fitted out as a

moving resource to store and distribute care packs to the Indigenous community.
